Abstract : Investigation of the chemistry of O2F2 and O3F2 continued. The reactions of these materials with the sulfur oxides has proven very useful for the elucidation of the chemistry of O2F2 and O3F2. The products of the reaction of O2F2 and O3F2 with SO2 are the same (mainly SO2F2 and FSO2OF, FSO2OOF, FSO2OSO2F, FSO2OOSO2F); however, in the case of O3F2 the amount of FSO2OOF is larger and that of FSO2OSO2F is smaller. In the reaction of O2F2 with SO2, O2F2 enriched with O17 was used in order to study the mechanism. The reaction of HNF2 with (CH3)3Al produces CH3Al(NF2)2 and perhaps (CH3)2Al = NF2. The B2F4-HNF2 system is discussed.
