Abstract : A previous theoretical study of weak blast wave impingement on slender hypersonic wedges for the case of head-on incidence is herein extended to include the effect of oblique incidence. Assuming linearized small perturbations from the original steady wedge flow, we obtain an analytical solution for the transient disturbance field with incidence angles up to 60 deg. The results of the theory show that oblique blast impingement can increase substantially the pronounced transient pressure overshoots which occur in the head-on case. (Author)
