Abstract : The magnetic and bathymetric data presented in this report were collected during the period May-September 1964 aboard USNS CHARLES H. DAVIS (AGOR-5) in the Pacific Ocean. Although the U. S. Navy Electronics Laboratory operations were of primary consideration, Oceanographic Office personnel collected magnetic and bathymetric profile data between oceanographic stations and conducted detailed area surveys when time allowed. Magnetic information obtained from this and similar cruises is used to improve the accuracy of magnetic data on charts, to determine the gross and detailed distribution of magnetic anomalies, and to provide information on the geologic structure of the ocean floor. This report illustrates the type of information that can be obtained on an opportunity basis by fully utilizing all available survey parameters and ship's time.
