Abstract : This is one part of a four-part series of reports. These reports are based on a new method for factoring a data matrix of order up to 3000 x 3000. The method is applicable to data matrices in general and should have applications in a wide range of multivariate analysis and prediction problems. These reports are specifically oriented toward the use of the techniques in the measurement of personality measurement of personality dimensions. It is probable that the work in this area has suffered more than other areas of psychology because adequate techniques were not available for the analysis of very large data matrices. (Author)
