Abstract : During 1964 and 1965, the 110-ft tower at Fort Worth, was instrumented to provide continuous recordings of meteorological conditions, including winds, temperatures, net thermal radiation, and air turbulence at various levels of from 1 to 32 m above grade. The data will be used to initiate and establish a NARF diffusion climatology in the concern for environmental nuclear safety under the NARF program. The tower instrumentation, together with associated recorder systems, forms the Atmospheric Physics Facility (APF) to serve NARF at GD/FW. The data-acquisition system records meteorological conditions automatically and continuously on punch-paper tape. The tapes are machine-processed to produce condensed data summaries applicable for climatological studies and record. This report covers the instrumentation of the meteorological tower, including details on the data-acquisition system, the operation, data production, and future plans as these relate to the APF.
