Abstract : Oxygen atoms were produced in the presence of C2F4 and O2 from the mercury-photosensitized decomposition of N2O. Besides N2, the products were CF2O. At room temperature, O2 suppresses c-C3F6 formation, but at 125 deg its presence enhances c-C3F6 production. The detailed mechanism is given by reactions a through p in the text. A number of rate constant ratios were determined, and they are included. The mechanism and rate constant ratios are compared to those for C3F6 and found to be similar; the only obvious difference is the absence of the epoxide-producing step in the C3F6 system. (Author)
