Abstract : A part of the investigation of the properties of stationary mechanical waves, harmonic in time and propagating in systems which exist in or are similar to the structural elements of a ship's hull is presented. The purpose of these investigations is to explain the phenomena of so-called local vibrations of a ship's hull and to establish suitable dynamic criteria for choosing the structure of the hull and the engine.
