Abstract : This report has as its goal the development of video and superheterodyne detection techniques which are appropriate for the millimeter and submillimeter range of the spectrum. The theoretical analysis of a loop configuration tunnel diode mounted in a ground plane is concluded. The reactive component of the load impedance is calculated. Tunnel diodes have been fabricated in the loop configuration and 15 to 20 Gc/s oscillation frequencies are reported. Second harmonic output is also observed. (Author)
