Abstract : A system replenishment model ('PROGRAM 61') was implemented at the Ships Parts Control Center in 1961. 'PROGRAM 61' is a set of scientific inventory decision rules which are used in the review of the asset/requirement position of our multi-warehouse supply system. This review, called the Supply Demand Review and performed at regular intervals, analyzes and recommends actions on each item in the Perpetual Inventory Record, when the status of the item warrants it. In this model certain parametric values, order cost, holding cost, and balancing (shortage) cost, were established by sample trials to fit the system situation at that time.
