Abstract : Fatigue characteristics of several epoxy resin, unwoven S glass laminates are presented. Reinforcement orientation and resin strength and modulus were varied in an attempt to study the resultant fatigue characteristics. This work verified the results shown in earlier efforts that orientations of + or - 5 degrees from the specimen axis seem to give maximum fatigue resistance. In addition, it was also shown that the stronger epoxy resins provide improved fatigue performance. (Author)
