Abstract : The physical properties of thin ferromagnetic films are discussed and a thin film adaptive element is described. Thresholding characteristics and adaption characteristics of the thin film element are presented. A Kerr Magneto-Optic Apparatus for observing magnetic domains is discussed. Domain patterns corresponding to the various states of magnetization during an adaption cycle are presented. An adaptive threshold logic unit utilizing thin film adaptive elements is proposed.
