Abstract : The resistance and rectifying properties of a partly and completely activated commercial type oxide cathode are measured over a wide temperature range using a specially constructed moveable anode diode. It is found that the resistance values are of sufficient magnitude to impose important performance limitations on modern receiving type tubes. It is also found that the rectifying characterisitcs of the interface are strongly dependent on the temperature and degree of activation of the cathode. Data are given which indicate that the interface does not limit the total d-c emission. (Author)
