Abstract : The preamplifier requirements of Forward Looking Infrared (FLIR) systems were analyzed. A parametric cost and performance analysis of alternate preamplifier configurations was executed. An optimum configuration was selected and a detailed design was performed. The resulting design was shown to provide higher performance at lower cost than existing operational configurations. A development program was recommended. (Author)
