Abstract : The effect of the location of the longitudinal centers of buoyancy and floatation on resistance in a fully developed Pierson-Moskowitz sea is predicted from regular wave model tests. Of the various destroyer hulls tested, the model having a form similar to a regular destroyer has the least total resistance, for almost all conditions.
