Abstract : This analysis comprised theory and experiment. A partial data analysis and correlation was performed on the pertinent characteristics of 374 pt-bays observed over a 2-year period. For first choice examples, the greatest density of occurrences took place around local midnight, and an unexpectedly high percentage of negative-polarity bays was particularly evident. Observations indicate that the bay-associated transient micropulsations are of hydromagnetic wave origin, with the most frequently occurring period of oscillation being 60 seconds. (Author)
