Abstract : Spectroscopic studies were made of the reactivity and molecular structure of free radicals and reactive molecules using the matrix isolation method. Spectroscopic studies were made of stable molecules selected to develop and expand the applicability of the matrix isolation method. New and novel spectroscopic techniques were developed to facilitate future infrared studies of chemical species with extreme reactivity.
