Abstract : The scientific objectives of the experiments and the individual instruments flown on the Astrobee 200 sounding rocket AC 15.610 are discussed in detail. The rocket was instrumented for auroral studies and was launched from Fort Churchill, Manitoba, Canada on 8 December 1963. The instrumentation included a new detector to measure the rate of ion production during periods of abnormally large ionization and other detectors to measure such related phenomenon as particle fluxes and auroral line intensities.
