Abstract : A challenge is offered to the proof given in a recent paper of the theorem that all the spatial decay constants vanish for a sufficiently large concentration of absorber in thermal neutron experiments. It is shown here that for a large class of scattering models (viz., those in which the total cross section, S(v), tends to a constant as v approaches infinity) the proof given is not valid; and, in fact, if the approach of S(v) to a constant is fast enough, the theorem is shown to be false.
