Abstract : The purpose of this report is to discuss the geometric, kinematic, physical, and human engineering aspects of air-to-ground search. The results of pertinent analytic and experimental investigations are presented and briefly discussed. Although the value of these investigations is assessed, no attempt has been made to perform a comprehensive evaluation of each of them.
