Abstract : The roles of electrochemistry and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) are discussed, including the contributions of each technique to the problems of the other. EPR has contributed to electrochemistry by (1) the detection and identification of radical intermediates in electrode reactions and (2) providing information about solution interactions of radical ions which contribute to a fuller understanding of these entities as oxidation-reduction intermediates. Electrochemistry has contributed to EPR, especially in the generation of anion radicals, by offering wider range of experimental conditions than previously available. (U) (Author)
