Abstract : The purpose of this note was to point out two things: (1) for a given initial ratio of the magnetic pressure to the hydrodynamic pressure in the conducting fluid, the escape speed is not uniquely defined, but depends on the magnetic pressure in the vacuum into which the fluid is expanding; and (2) the integrals appearing in the generalized Riemann invariants can be evaluated analytically.
