Abstract : The purpose of the thesis is to examine alternative methods of evaluating the utilization of mass transportation. Several mathematical models employed by operations research are presented and demonstrated for use in planning expanded transit facilities. It is hoped that the study will contribute toward solving problems of traffic congestion.
