Abstract : A detailed seismic reflection survey was carried out at Site 2, Greenland (76 deg 59 min N, 56 deg 05 min W) in 1956 in a rectangle 3160 x 2400 ft (963 x 732 m). The survey was repeated in 1959 in the same area, which had been marked by bamboo poles. The results were essentially the same, indicating that the surface had probably not moved much in the 3-year period. However, the reflection records were not of sufficiently high quality to give an accurate estimate of the possible shift, leaving an uncertainty of the order of 50 to 100 m in the direction of the dip of sub-surface (SW) and more in the direction of the strike. It is estimated that under more favorable conditions the method should give an accuracy of 30 to 50 m. (Author)
