Abstract : Microwave observations at a wave-length of 9.4 cm. of the supernova remnant IC443 and surrounding region have been carried out at the Algonquin Radio Observatory. These, combined with observations at other frequencies, yield a spectral index for IC443 of 0.40 = 0.03. Weak radio emission from the region north of the star Geminorum is detected and attributed to a gas cloud surrounding part of the I Geminorum association. It is suggested that the supernova remnant is situated at the edge of this cloud and that the exploded star was originally a member of the association. (Author)
