Abstract : The paper serves as a report of preliminary attempts to study empirically the prediction of choice methodology proposed, in 1945, by Thurstone. Competing entrees on a luncheon menu serve as stimuli. Two variables, preference and price, are considered in the prediction of relative selection for each competing item.
