Abstract : The report discusses the structure of the atmosphere and the microclimatology in and above tropical forests. The temperature, temperature inversions, wind, wind speed, humidity, evaporation rates, illumination, and the effects of seasons, day, and night on the temperature and humidity in tropical forests and above the canopy are reported. The effect of vegetation on the transmission of solar radiation into the forests and the radiometeorological characteristics of the atmosphere above the canopy are also mentioned. (Author)
