Abstract : Vostok-3 had completed more than 64 orbits around the Earth in 95 hours, and Vostok-4 completed more than 48 orbits in 71 hours. The two spaceships flew close to each other for almost 3 days and maintained direct and regular contact with each other. Launching and landing operations were carried out in strict accordance with the specified plans. All the onboard systems and instruments functioned perfectly during the entire flight. Objective medical data indicated that Nikolayev and Popovich withstood the launch period, orbital flight, and landing period with no adverse effects; both cosmonauts were in excellent physical condition during the flight, they were cheerful, felt well, and retained full work capacity. They carried out a large program of flight activities. Their postflight physical condition was good. The two cosmonauts coordinated their activities, exchanged information on their situations and on the functioning of onboard equipment, and compared the results of their observations. (Author)
