Abstract : The difference solution of a diffusion problem for an infinite cylinder (with axial symmetry) was obtained by means of a lattice with constant number of space mesh points and variable mesh width: the lattice is initially concentrated in a surface shell, according to the initial distribution, and is expanded as the physical uniformization proceeds.
