Abstract : This report is the first of a series of studies designed to present a clearer picture of students' anxieties about flying. It presents in detail interviews with two types of flight students. The first interview is with a group of eight students who demonstrate normal concerns toward flying and the second is with a student who manifests an unhealthy dread of flying. The contrast is all the more vivid since it is the cadets themselves who are speaking. The data presented here represents the real feelings of individuals facing a real situation. (Author)
