Abstract : The information contained herein constitutes the third and final report on high-compressive-strength concrete. The first report consisted of a review of the state of the art. In phase two approximately 150 mixtures were proportioned to study the effect of mixture variables on the ultimate strength. In this report are presented the results of the previous two phases, and results of physical and thermal tests of highstrength concrete including creep, shrinkage, thermal properties, heat rise, and stress-strain relations. Procedures for proportioning, mixing, placing, using, testing, and inspecting high-strength concrete are discussed as well as the practical application of high-strength concrete to structural works. Recommendations are made for additional studies to fully utilize the properties of high-strength concrete. (Author)
