Abstract : Dense barium titanate bodies with a grain size of 0.05 micron have been prepared by hot-pressing high purity material at temperatures as low as 1475F. The dielectric properties of this material and also for samples which have been annealed to grow larger grains are reported. Data which show the variation in dielectric constant and temperature stability with increasing grain size from 0.05 micron to about 6 microns are included. The dielectric constant reaches a maximum at a grain size of about 1 micron. (Author)
