Abstract : The superadditive effect of phenidone (1-phenyl-3 -pyrazolidone) with various developing compounds more frequently used in photographic practice was studied. Studied as basic developing compounds were: adurole (chlorhydroquinone), amidole (2,4-diaminophenol hydrochloride), hydroquinone, glycine (p-oxiphenylglycine), methole (monomethyl-p-aminophenol), p-aminophenol, p-phenylenediamine, pyrocatechol and pyrogallol. It is shown that a superadditive effect of phenidone is found chiefly with developing compounds containing at least two oxigroups in the molecule (exception -- glycine, one oxigroup). (Extracted)
