Abstract : The intensification of light is accomplished by projecting the image through the objective onto the photocathode of the electron-optical converter of the instrument. Under the action of very feeble light the photocathode radiates electrons. Passing to the anode they, with the aid of an electron-magnetic lens are focused onto a luminescent screen. The illumination of the image is amplified. Afterward it falls on the photocathode of the following chamber and occurs several times until the required brightness is attained.
