Abstract : This report covers the development of a model of color vision based on feedback control principles, which provides an explanation for the wide dynamic range, high accuracy of spectral discrimination, and invariance to changing illumination that we experience in color vision. The model is consistent with physiological and psychological evidence. Analysis is presented of waveguide modes in the retinal receptors which are assumed to be the means of spectral discrimination.
