Abstract : A new type of microwave radiation (at 2-4 kMc) was observed from n-type InSb bars at 77K, which were subject to low electric field and high magnetic field simultaneously. The threshold electric and magnetic fields for onset of the microwave emission are, respectively, 3 V/cm and 4 kgauss. The emission of microwave radiation is associated with the nature of the contacts between the specimen and the electrodes. The radiation temperature ranges from 1000K (noise level) to 300,000K.
