Abstract : The first approximation corresponds to perfect conductivity and relates to the DS circulation. The component E11 parallel to B must be controlled by charge neutrality and the interaction with low energy particles is most important. Electrons move fast compared to the characteristic time of the field and approximations can be used, but not for protons. Sudden changes in the situation occur at reconnection. In the tail the discussion concerns interdiffusion of plasma between the magnetosphere and the solar wind. The possibility of a large E11 being set up occurs only at the tail reconnection. The low electron density in the magnetosphere is still puzzling. (Author)
