Abstract : A TE11 mode emerging from the mouth of a conical horn excites higher-order modes, which can adversely affect the radiation pattern. This effect is substantially reduced over a 10% bandwidth by adding a series of resonant foam discs, which provide matching for the mouth and a filter passing only the desired mode over a suitable bandwidth.
