Abstract : A recent interference experiment of Fitch et al. has been interpreted as suggesting that the imaginary part of the offdiagonal neutralK  antineutralK mass matrix is mainly responsible for the observed CP noninvariance in 2pion decay, whereas the imaginary parts of the width matrices are negligible. In this note a study is made of the consistency of such a proposition with simple theoretical models. (Author)
