Abstract : The maximum fuel element loading for the third core of the Air Force Nuclear Engineering Test Facility at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, was calculated. The effects of several fuel element loadings were evaluated using a two-dimensional, burn-p code on the 7094 computer. The criteria used in the evaluation were limits on the excess reactivity, the thermal stress, and the materials of the reactor. The 250 gm fuel element loading was found to be the maximum fuel element loading for the third core. (Author)
