Abstract : In this investigation, the propagation of harmonic waves of an arbitrary number of circumferential nodes travelling in composite, traction-free, circular cylindrical shells, is studied on the basis of the linear, three-dimensional theory of elasticity. The composite shells consist of a circular inner layer composed of one material, bounded by and bonded to a circular outer casing made of another material. (Author)
