Abstract : The primary objective of the work was to chemically modify a polyhdroxy ether based on bisphenol A and epichlorohydrin by incorporating pendant gylcidyl groups for crosslinking. A polyhydroxy ether was converted to a thermosetting polyepoxidepolyhydroxy ether. Approximately six epoxy groups per molecule (DP 100) were incorporated; when crosslinked through the epoxy groups with m-phenylene diamine, the polymer became insoluble in dioxane whereas the original polymer was soluble.
