Abstract : On April 15, 1966 the burner was started on the first T/E generator system for the oceanographic buoy application. During the reporting period 373 hours of operation were accumulated and all of the basic generator calibrations were accomplished. A simulated buoy environment of 95F water and 110F air was used during these calibrations and the generator performed as designed with no measurable deterioration. The maximum power point measured to date is shown in the volt-ampere and power curve. The average measured temperature for this data point is given. The generator is now being connected into the simulated buoy system including the primary and secondary batteries, the control, the ignitor voltage regulator plus the connecting harness assembly. The remainder of the testing on this unit will be as a battery charging system and will include simulating cold ambient operation.
