Abstract : An ultraviolet polar nephelometer which is used to measure the differential scatter function of air is described. The instrument covers the range from pure air to dense haze conditions. The report gives a comprehensive discussion of the design of the instrument, detailed description of the optical and electrical components, installation procedures, and maintenance guide. The nephelometer has a useful, dynamic range of 60 db. adjusted so that adequate signal is obtained for pure air. Detailed specifications are listed. (Author)
