Abstract : An experimental study was made to determine the effects of liquid nitrogen temperatures on the operating characteristics of some commercially available Hall effect devices to determine their potentialities for device application at 77K. The Hall probe behavior at liquid nitrogen temperatures is compared to the room temperature response. An increase in voltage sensitivity was noted. Probe operation with control currents exceeding the rated maximum is also described. (Author)
