Abstract : The duality problem for nonlinear programming is considered in a real Banach space. Using an appropriate generalization of the KuhnTucker Theorem the main results of the finite dimensional duality problem are extended to the infite dimensional case. It is shown that the dual problem of a quadratic infinite dimensional maximization problem can be transformed into a finite minimization problem in a finite dimensional Euclidean space. Potential applications to continuous programming problems and problems of optimal control theory are illustrated by an example. (Author)
