Abstract : A multilayer medium for electroionic electrophotography was developed. A doped cadmium sulfoselenide photoconductor film was in electrical contact with a development layer through an anisotropically conducting separator (multilead glass). The separator protected the photoconductor from contamination by reagents in the development layer. A semitransparent gold layer and aluminum foil served as electrodes. A 20 millisec exposure simultaneous with the application of an electric field produced the image as an electrolytic deposit in the development layer without need for subsequent processing. The image is viewed after parting the layers. (Author)
