Abstract : Generally covariant supplementary conditions (generalized Lorentz conditions) in spherical coordinates, as applied to the Schwarzschild problem, are analyzed. It is found that the limits imposed on the metric in the known Schwarzschild solution correspond to the tensor conditions of Einstein and do not correspond to the generalized harmonic conditions of De Donder-Fock.
