Abstract : To determine the feasibility of making mass spectrometric measurements of the lower atmosphere, balloon flights have been made to an altitude of 28 km with a time-of-flight mass spectrometer. Composition measurements were obtained, and some of the problems of extending the range and accuracy of measurements resolved. (Author)
