Abstract : The effect of the scattering of polarized light by a dull dielectric surface was studied. The zeroth diffraction approximation proves to be more detailed than does the ray-optics approximation. In such an approximation, we must repeatedly explain the fact of light depolarization and the dependence of polarization effects upon the scattering conditions and also the displacement of the maximum of the scattering curve for larger observation angles.
