Abstract : Vector correlation coefficients of winds from 3 through 24 kilometers mean sea level at Grand Junction, Colorado; Salt Lake City, Utah; Ely, Nevada; and Lander, Wyoming; and between Grand Junction and these stations are presented by season in tabular form. Both synchronous and lagged values are included for interlevel and intralevel relationships. A simple technique for using the correlations as a forecast tool, including the necessary constants, is presented. By simple linear regression it is shown that wind predictions for Grand Junction may be used for Green River, Utah, with accuracy adequate for scheduling missile launchings. (Author)
